About Shoreline Scuba

Greetings from St Croix, USVI

My name is Mike, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, but moved to St Croix to escape the cold weather and 7 mil wetsuits. I had this dream of working for a dive company and teaching new divers. But during my interviews, I actually heard an owner tell me that he only hires instructors that look like a lifeguard. Well, this 47 year old diving veterin was not going to be looking like any lifeguard soon! Another owner told me that I would have to forget everything PADI has taught me. HELLO, that was a red flag hitting me in the face. Let me understand! I need to forget everything PADI stands for including the years of research and development and the policies and procedures developed to keep divers safe. Well, I knew that I would have to open my own scuba company to assure that people would always be treated with respect and be safe while diving. That is how Shoreline Scuba started.

The name and concept was chosen because of my belief in being a good steward to our environment. St Croix has some of the best dive sites just yards off our shoreline or the pier. By not using boats, we cut down on the harmful carbon emissions from the dive boat. Shoreline Scuba is all about being Green and Eco-Friendly. St Croix's shoreline scuba diving is some of the best in the world.

I'm a PADI Open Water Instructor and a Master Scuba Diver Trainer. I teach QUALITY PROGRAMS NOT QUANTITY. My small group courses would be considered private lessons by other St Croix dive shops. My private lessons are more reasonably priced than most of St Croix's dive shops group lessons. I offer a variety of services, from gear rental, PADI dive courses, Discover Scuba (NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED-an intro dive and Scuba Review or Refreshers. However, I pride myself on safe and fun activities. My past students will tell you my approach to teaching is entertaining but when we hit the water I am serious about safety and students learning the correct way to dive. You will not experience tea bagging diving with Shoreline Scuba.

I am excited that my work day is diving and showing you the wonderful marine life in St Croix's crystal clear water. If you are a certified diver, new to diving or want to try diving, then Shoreline Scuba wants to be there to make sure you get to see everything in a safe and thrilling dive.
